Last month at IANDS in Chicago, I met Dr. Raymond A. Moody, who coined the term “near-death experience” (NDE). Fifty years after his landmark book Life After Life first opened hearts and minds to new dimensions, he remains an inspiration.

At IANDS, I found the courage to talk with him about our experience and introduce the term I’ve coined: “shared near-death experience” (SNDE). Dr. Moody listened with warmth and thoughtful curiosity, and when he nodded, saying the concept made sense, it was like receiving a blessing from a kindred spirit.

That encounter is a memory I will always treasure! The background of me with Dr. Raymond Moody and his wonderful wife, Cheryl, reflects how out-of-this-world meeting them both felt!
